Robert S. Ford (Bob), age 81, peacefully passed away August 9, 2018 surrounded by his family while listening to “My Way” by one of his favourites, Frank Sinatra.
Bob graduated from Indiana University in 1959 and spent 51 years as a practicing Certified Public Accountant. When not working, Bob cheered on the IU Hoosiers and enjoyed the outdoors, including hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his five children, Cynthia A. Chapek (Robert), Robert. H. Ford, Catherine L. Hannah, Jeffrey S. Ford (Marcia) – mother Judith A. Ford and Shelly M. Smith (Jeremy) and one step-son Shane M. Lowery (Sarah) – mother Melody A. Lowery-Ford. Bob also leaves behind fifteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert H. and Mary Beth Ford.
The family is planning a private celebration of life and asks that memorial donations be made in his name to Indiana University via the Indiana University Foundation at PO Box 500, Bloomington, IN, 47402-0500 or via phone at 800-558-8311.
In the words of Mr. Sinatra “I’ve lived a life that’s full, I’ve traveled each and every highway, But more, much more than this, I did it my way.” Rest easy, we know you are doing it your way!

Bob was a good man and a mentor to me as a CPA, especially with HUD accounting. Could usually depend on seeing Bob at Lutz Steakhouse until it closed. May the peace of God be with Melody, Rob, Shelley, and the rest of the Bob Ford family always.
